Interview with Chance Cessna!

Everyone meet Chance Cessna! I came across Chance's Instagram account a couple months back and instantly fell in love with her posts! After reading a reposting some of her messages to my page, I decided to reach out to her for an interview. Chance was extremely nice and beyond a pleasure to work with. Check out the interview below to see what we spoke about!

Charisma: What is the importance of having a relationship with Jesus Christ?

Chance: I can explain the importance of having a relationship with Jesus Christ from a personal experience. On June 19th, 2011, I decided to surrender and give my life over to Jesus Christ. My mother and grandparents had all passed away with a couple years span. Not only that, I was also in relationship with a guy that had been cheating on me. I was extremely lost and broken and I had no where to go but, back to GOD. The Lord deliver us. He's the only one to save us!

Charisma: What was the inspiration behind Cookies, Cappuccino and Christ?

Chance: Cookies, Cappuccino and Christ was born on December 2nd, 2013. I was at home and I had been in prayer that morning and I was asking GOD what was next for my life. I had been visioning a women's ministry for a while but it wasn't clear. So on this specific day, I created a flyer with the date and time and I posted it on my social media. Once I posted the flyer, it immediately took off. However, I didn't put a location on there which caused women from all over the world such as Atlanta, Chicago, Washington D.C, Alabama and even Germany to inquire about the event.

Charisma: What advice can you offer to young women battling self-esteem issues?

Chance: Well, for many years I battled with self-esteem. I didn't have a healthy view of myself. But I learned when you learn to look into the eyes of Jesus instead of a man you will be better. Jesus reflects beauty and perfection so when you're truly looking in his eyes you have no choice but to see that within yourself.

Charisma: Do you have a youtube channel?

Chance: Actually, my youtube channel will be launching really soon. Like within a few weeks.

Charisma: What are your social media handles?

Chance: You can find me on instagram at @iamchancecessna, on facebook at Chance Cessna and I also have a fan page on there on there as well, and I have twitter, @Chancecessna. You can also view my blog on itsbychance.com

Please Save Me From Myself!

Save Me From Myself Blog:

Have you ever heard the quote, "ELEVATION REQUIRES SEPARATION"?

Sometimes we often hold on to "What it could be OR What it was be AS OPPOSED to What it is." As humans, it's natural to never want to let go. Especially, for those of you that aren't comfortable with change.

Rather you realize it or not, some of the situations we're in are our own faults! It's normal to get caught up in what's wrong and become a victim of undeserving behavior. You should never be comfortable with functioning in dysfunction! I cant stress that enough. We're now living in a world where calling your spouse disrespectful names is considered normal. Further more, we're living in a society where a putting your hands on someone in a disrespectful manner is considered a way of expressing love out of anger. These things are not okay!

Question: Well, if the relationship isn't right why won't I leave?

Great question! Well, here's your answer.

Some of us allow the disrespectful behavior because we love the convenience. We like the material things we're getting from that person. Not only that, we love their platform. Meaning we love where they are in life and we feel as long as we're linked to them we will enjoy the benefits as well.

Do you talk to yourself?

No, talking to yourself doesn't make you crazy! It's okay to sit down and ask GOD a simple question such as:

"PLEASE SAVE ME FROM MYSELF!"

If you're a firm believer in Christ, you already understand how important it is to pray certain things and people off of you. Especially, friendships and romance relationships. Sadly, some people just don't mean us any good and they prevent us from growing. Not only that, some people aren't comfortable with change, like I mentioned earlier. So therefore, they're willing to put up with almost anything not understanding how much it's really destroying them and breaking them down mentally. Secondly, it's okay to take it upon yourself to cut all ties and walk away from certain situations because some people won't leave your life until you leave them.

Example: Have you ever wanted a relationship to work out between you and someone you THOUGHT you really wanted?

Sometimes it's not all bad and you have to be appreciative. Maybe that relationship didn't work because he/she was abusive, He/She slept around a lot and was exposed to sexually transmitted diseases, He/She wasn't supportive enough and couldn't see your vision, He/She was a distraction and would simply slow you down and etc. (THINK ABOUT IT)

SAVE YOURSELF FROM TOXIC FRIENDSHIPS AS WELL!

Let go of the so called "friends" that are jealous of you and your accomplishments! Sometimes we don't even realize how jealous our "friends" are of us which is the exact reason why we would never expect them to try harm us or put us in a terrible position.

We need to learn to how stop trying to open doors that GOD already closed. If they're gone, it's for a reason. Sometimes the explanation and apology isn't needed. You have to let people venture off and do their own thing to save yourself!

It's nothing worst than wasted time and energy! Think about it.

Interview with Confidence Killion!

A couple days ago I got a chance to catch up with Confidence Killion, an amazing recording artist from Detroit, Michigan. After speaking with Confidence Killion and listening to his new single, "All Or Nothing" it's clear that Detroit is back on the rise musically!

Charisma: How long have you been interested  in music and when did you realize you had a passion for it?

Confidence Killion: I've been told that I was interested in music from my mother the moment I could I hear sounds. When she was pregnant she placed her headphones on her stomach while music would play and because of her doing that, I would kick rapidly in her stomach every time I heard music or singing coming from anywhere. I first realized music was my passion at age 7 during my very first talent show at Pepper Elementary School singing "Any Day Now" by my favorite artist Luther Vandross. It was my first time in front of an actual audience. The reaction and energy that I received from everyone gave me the best feeling I'd ever experienced and I knew from there on I wanted to perform for the rest of my life.

Charisma: If given the opportunity to collaborate with any artist, who would you choose and why?

Confidence Killion: If I had the opportunity to collaborate with any other artist it would be Usher and Ariana Grande. Usher has been one of my favorite artist since I can remember. His range and vocals are so dope to me, and I admire the fact that not only can he perform well on stage, he also sings and delivers great vocals at the same time.  Ariana Grande is my second choice because I really love the way she delivers vocally on her songs, she commits every time. I think we would sound really great together.

Charisma: Who or what inspires you?

Confidence Killion: I get inspiration from multiple artists. I enjoy discovering what makes different vocalist so great at what they do and applying it to myself while yet still making it my own. When it comes to my writing I use past and present experiences that have occurred in my life. I also find inspiration from other peoples situations like friends, family and people on social media.

Charisma: What inspired your new single, "All or Nothing"?

Confidence Killion: The inspiration for my single "All or Nothing" came from a past relationship that I was in. This song was actually recorded not too long after our split. During the time of the relationship, I felt like everything was at a stand still, things weren't getting better nor were they getting worse and I simply wanted more than that. That's where the phrase "give me your ALL OR NOTHING" came from.

Charisma: Do you have any upcoming performances?

Confidence Killion: Right now I'm mainly focused on finishing my EP Album and making sure everything turns out amazing. I want my next performance to showcase of all the hard work I've done and the new music I've created in best way possible.

Charisma: Where can all of the music lovers listen and download your music?

Confidence Killion: I actually just dropped my debut single "All Or Nothing" on soundcloud at https://soundcloud.com/confidencekillion/all-or-nothing
It's available for free download

Charisma: What are your social media handles?

Confidence Killion: You can find me on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat under @ItsmeConfidence and my Facebook fan page is under I Support Confidence.

Charisma Covers The 2014 Be Bold Fashion Show!

Yesterday I was given the opportunity to cover the 2014 Be Bold Fashion Show hosted by Chigozie Uwazurike. Chigozie is one the three members that created YPVL which stands for Young Productive Vintage Life. The amazing event took place in Detroit, Michigan at the White House Night Club.

Charisma and Chigozie during the Be Bold Fashion Show.

Charisma: What inspired YPVL?

Chi: Well, actually YPVL was created by myself and two other members however, I'm the CEO. YPVL is more than a clothing line, it's a lifestyle. We're all so big on being positive and doing positive things. Hustling the right way!

Charisma: When did you launch YPVL?

Chi: It's been three years. We launched YPVL on August 25th, 2011.

Charisma: If you could design a piece of clothing for any celebrity who would you choose and why?

Chigozie introducing the next designer.
Chi: Diddy! Hands down, I'm his biggest fan. Diddy inspires me as a business man because, he backs up everything he says. I also would love to create something for Diddy because, he believes in potential. Whenever he sees something great he's willing to work with it. I also know Diddy, wouldn't want me to work for free.

Charisma: What was your favorite moment about the fashion show last night?

Chi: I really didn't have a favorite. I loved every moment! I loved seeing Jay Lee preform. Also, one of the designers weren't able to make it last night, so being able to fill in for him and taking control of someone elses clothing line was nice.

Charisma: Where can customers purchase YPVL?

Chi: Customers can send their requests with details (sizes, colors and etc.) via email to young.chi20@gmail.com and I'll send them a invoice.

Charisma: If up and coming fashion designers want to be featured in your future shows how can they inquire?

Chi: It's best to email me or send a direct message on instagram. I stay up to date with my social media so it's easy to contact me on there.

Charisma: What can the world expect next from YPVL?

Chi: Everyone can expect The Plug pt.2, it's a networking event. We had The Plug pt. 1 two months ago. Also, I'll be doing my second annual toy drive with Hot 107.5! Last year, we donated over six hundred toys. I'm really passionate about charity work because, it's no point of making moves if you're not giving back!
