Interview with Claudia Jordan

Charisma: Thank you so much for taking the time to interview with me. You're such a positive influence. How are you?

Claudia Jordan: Well other than battling a cold from all my nonstop traveling and no sleep--Im great thank you!

Charisma: Well I hope you feel better soon xoxo! So let's jump in. Who is your inspiration or has the biggest impact on your life?

Claudia Jordan: Hmm biggest inspiration? Really anyone that has overcome adversity, any underdog. Anyone that has to WORK HARD for what they got but I had a trainer that was like a dad to me. He was so positive & pro-woman. He used to reiterate how precious a woman is and to value ourselves. If the guys in our training groups didnt properly address us he would check them on the spot. Loved it.

Charisma:Great response. He seems like an amazing man! Would you ever consider starting a girls mentoring program? If so why?

Claudia Jordan: Id love to help w/mentoring. I feel I could be affective cause I've made mistakes & learned from them. I'm FAR from perfect.

Charisma: We need more individuals like you!!!! I absolutely loved you on Tiny Tonight. Will there be more episodes?

Claudia Jordan: Yes ma'am. Next episode airs Feb 4th at 10pm. We will be shooting 2 more soon! I love doing talk shows!

Charisma: Yayy!!! Can't wait you, Tamar, Tiny & Trina are great! Who is your favorite entertainer?

Claudia Jordan: Hmmm favorite entertainer? Well I love Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez as an actress-I think she's cute. Love Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Alicia Keys I got to interview Alicia Keys before, I worked with Halle on a Revlon commercial when I first got to LA, worked with Foxx, met Beyonce.

Charisma: Wow, you've met a little bit of everybody lol. Soooooo speaking of celebritites, do you have a celebrity crush?

Claudia Jordan: Hmmm celebrity crush... I've met em-but if I had to pick someone interesting, sexy & manly I'd go w/Idris Elba. #NowThatsAMan

Charisma: (In my Tamar Braxton voice) You trieddddddd it!!! Lol I agree. He's beyond fine!

Charisma:Ok last question! What adivce do you have for individuals around the world trying to accomplish their dreams?

Claudia Jordan: Well the hardest part is figuring what U WANT to do-once u do-put in the work & sacrifice to go get it. Have a PLAN B-but FOCUS and I try to embrace this. Never put too much stock in PRAISE or Criticism because both can have negative affects on you!

Charisma: Great advice!! Thank you so much Ms.Jordan aka known as the ORIGINAL #NoKindSir lol and much success throughout your career!!

Claudia Jordan: LOL at Original #NoKindSir DYING!!!!!!!!!

Interview with DJ Choz!

Charisma: When did you realize you had a passion for music?

DJ Choz: My dad is a legendary raggae producer who brought acts like Shabbat Ranks and Barrington Levy, he actually made the original song Shyne sampled in "Bad Boys", as well as "Bonnie and Shyne" so I've been in the studio my whole life. My play pen was in the corner or a studio, I guess it's a part of me.

Charisma: How long have you been a dj?

DJ Choz: Going on six years.

Charisma: How did you meet and become a dj for Gunplay?

DJ Choz: Via twitter! He has a dj coalition and at the time I needed a backing. I asked if I could join, he was with it then he needed a dj to tour with him and he called me and we been rocking ever since.

Charisma: Do you dj for another artist besides Gunplay?

DJ Choz: Gunplay is the main artist I dj for but I've done shows with Big Krit and Joe Cool.

Charisma: What advice do you have for any young man trying to accomplish his dreams?

DJ Choz: Figure out if you want to be in this for the right reasons because you can waste a lot of time and money bs'ing and stay dedicated.

You can follow him on twitter at @djchoz

The Wonder World of Shopping!

It’s pretty interesting how fashion builds itself across the world! Fashion is nothing more than an expression of unlimited creativity. Learning about regional fashion can be extremely fun once you’re physically able to see how individuals from different areas of the world express themselves through clothing and accessories. On the west coast in Las Vegas, Nevada there’s a popular mall on the strip which is called fashion show mall. Fashion show mall has a series of great stores to purchase great items. The TopShop (as mentioned in previous article) has an outstanding collection of looks! Being a secret shopper is harder than it sounds but once you become so drawn into the different clothing styles, materials and textures the job becomes much easier. According to the season items that are currently in the TopShop, it’s confirmed that it’s definitely going to be a fashionable autumn. A lot of the pieces in the TopShop are inspired by the classic glamour look. Some of the dresses are collared knee length styled that resemble the late great Audrey Hepburn in the iconic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s and other items consist of quarter length cotton coats that you may have seen similar on the fashion runways in the 1960’s. The fashionable store also offers a variety of pants as well. You can find plain jeans or print jeans. Most of the pants are skinny leg simply because that specific pants style fits better with boots and compliments a heel, wedge, or flat. Accessories range from a wide selection of hats, scarves, glasses, rings, clutches earrings, necklaces and yes, even shoes! As of now the TopShop is decorated to match the seasons setting, just like any other professional store would. During your experience at the TopShop not only are you going to feel the warmth of the glitz and glamour vibe, you’re going to love it as well! One of the great advantages about shopping at the TopShop happens to be students can receive up to ten percent off of their purchases all year round as long as they present their school identification cards upon check-out. This deal applies to any student (high school or college). Location does not matter which means you don’t have to be a resident of the state you’re shopping in when you present your identification card. On the other hand, if you’re not too fashion friendly it’s perfectly fine! TopShop offers personal shopping with the help of the employees. Receiving a TopShop personal shopper is an extremely simple process. All you have to do is set up an appointment to go visit the store and tell the selected employee what you’re looking for whether it’s specifically for an event or you can provide them with an idea of your overall style so they can set up a personal wardrobe re-creation for you. If you’re interested in stocking up for the spring and summer of 2013, now is the time to start. The store also has a series of clearance racks full of out of season clothing and accessories. Why not get a head start?

Landing Your Dream Job!

Today I attended a school seminar. Usually when you hear about a seminar you think of learning about boring information that will go in one ear and out the other.
 THIS WAS NOTHING LIKE THAT!!!
This particular seminar was extremely interesting. The title of the seminar;
"Why Didn't I Get Hired?"
speaks for itself.
True enough it can be rather discouraging going on interview after interview and still remain unemployed. Here in this blog post I'm going to provide you with some great tips to land your next job, let alone a job that you love.

  • SOCIAL MEDIA
Sure social media sites like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook are extremly popular and exciting to browse but having these specific sites can cause a lot of trouble as well. People often think when their not called back by a hiring managers after a interview it's because the company "decided to go with another candidate that best fit the description." Actually, in some cases that's absolutely true! That candidate is a person that knows how to represent not only themselves, but the company in a respectful manner. The real reason you aren't getting calls back after interviews links back to the information that you're posting on the internet. If you're looking to start a career, posting pictures of you smoking, drinking and partying at clubs with your friends on social media sites isn't the best route. Most people say "It's my twitter, It's my instagram, It's my facebook so I'll post what I want" *pause* Well that's fine but you'll also continue to be unemployed. It's nothing wrong with having fun and snapping photographs while in the process, but insert those pictures in a personal photo album at home NOT on the internet. However, you can learn to turn your negatives to positives. Just as much as social media sites can hurt you they can help you. Social media sites can help you build and establish your brand and network. Be smart when using the internet!

EXPERIENCE
Stop being lazy! Get out and start meeting new people. Employers love to hire active individuals. Make sure your resume isn't dull. Apply for internships and join student clubs and organizations at your college. Take internship offers, PAID or NOT! The experience will prepare you for the job that you plan to have. One thing you must remember...
EVERY INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY WILL NOT BE PAID!
Start volunteering. Employers love hiring individuals that offer their time volunteering for companies. Volunteer work let's the hiring manager know where your heart is and if you're willing to go over and above while working for their company.
COMMUNICATION
It's very important to speak clearly while on a interview.
ABSOLUTELY NO SLANG!
You're not talking to your family and friends, this is your FUTURE employer.
MAKE EYE CONTACT!
Eye contact is a sign of confidence.
Use your manners; CONSTANT please and thank you's.
APPEARANCE
DRESS TO IMPRESS!
Make sure your clothes are IRONED!
Even if you'e applying to a company that can wear jeans to work,
NEVER WEAR JEANS ON A INTERVIEW!

Be care about what you wear when you pick up employment applications. You don't want to ask for an apllication in pajama pants, tight pants or sagging pants because without knowing, you could be asking the MANAGER for an application.
If you have any tattoos and/or piercings make sure they're COVERED
Employers won't take you serious with tattoos running down your arms and piercings popping out your face.
YOUR WORD
All you have in this world is your word.
Companies are looking for LOYALTY and CONSISTENCY
Business leaders aren't looking to hire individuals that take multiple days off work and decide to quit when the going gets tough.

Sparkle Obession!

Real fashion experts know that fashion is just a recycled trend waiting to be brought back to life, but next time with more character and creativity. Alot of the fashion styles from the fourties, fifties, sixties, and even seventies are coming right back around. At the end of last year, the film re-make of Sparkle, was shot here in Detroit, Michigan. The film was released last weekend and the costumes used in the film were absolutely breathtaking! The funny thing about the clothing, happens to be that they were trying to find clothing that would have the soul and sixties look but what they actually created was inspiration for the real fashion lovers. Unfortunatley, those specific looks aren't offered in stores anymore due to the fact that some retail stores might consider the looks "Outdated" However, they're not outdated the correct term for the clothing would be "Timeless or Classic". If you are interested in the timeless look but can't find them anywhere your best bet is to ask family memebers or even neighbors who were around in those times to hand down some of the classic pieces down that they no longer use.

The film was absolutely amazing! The casting directors managed to bring together great people to relive the iconic picture. All the actors/actresses SHINED! I loved how the storyline was adjusted as well. I really thought the film was going to be a repeat of the original but in my opinion it wasn't even a re-make of the film because
I FELT AS IF IT WAS A CHAPTER TWO!
The music was great! One minute I was jamming to the popular motown hits like "Special Occasion" by Smokey Robinson then taken away by Carmen Ejogo's version of "Hooked On Your Love" which I absolutely adored and tear jerked by Jordin Sparks "One Wing".
I know that Carmen Ejogo has been acting for years but this was definitely her big break. Carmen "Sister" was my favorite character in the film. She OWNED her role. I've already seen the movie two times, definitely obsessed. I give the film an easy A+!!!!

Nail Creativity!

Fashion is alive in so many forms. Who ever thought nail creativity could be one of them? Nail creativity is now more popular than ever. A lot of young ladies and even women go to the extreme when it comes to nail creativity for one simple reason... "No two women want to be alike". You're probably thinking, How could you be categorized as the same, just based off of something as simple as nail polish?" EASY! Don't get me wrong, every woman loves a soft simple manicure but every now and then it's ok to switch up your style ESPECIALLY during the Summer season. Pink and Whites are nice...(If your a bride)...but no married woman jumps the broom everyday. Soft colors are nice sometimes, but what's the point of paying to get a nail color that you can barely see? I must admit that's rather boring. Now ladies, I know your pain. I'm guilty! I use to be a plain jane when it came to nails until I was introduced to COLOR! New nail colors and designs changed my creative thinking process in more ways than you can begin to imagine. Now, when I visit the nail salon for a manicure and pedicure it's completely impossible for me to get something that doesn't pop. First, you want to start off with a simple extemely bright color or depressing dark color. Yes, depressing dark color! You should choose those two type of colors because, both of the colors attract attention because of the dramatic effect. After wearing only those two colors for a while you might become bored and want to step out of the safe zone. That was the moment I feel in love with crackle nail polish. Honestly, crackle is the best nail creation on Earth. The fun thing about the crackle nail polish happens to be, you can use crackle over a complimenting fun color or over a color that completely clashes and they both still look perfect together. The crackle and base color look amazing but you still might feel there was still something missing. GLITTER! Everyone has their own nail opinion but I believe, if you crackle you middle fingers and your pinkys, glitter your ring fingers and top coat your index and thumb you will have million dollar nails that cause people to say two things, "OMG Where do you get your nails done? and Aww, Your nails are so pretty" Trust me, it works every time! A lot of ladies are probably thinking "Yeah, that sounds cute but I still don't know" well, that's absolutely fine. Everything is a process. However if you aren't going to try something funky and wild, you should really consider trying shellac. Shellac is a polish base that substitutes for acryllic so you don't have to ruin your nails during the process. You can find shellac in almost any color and it doesn't chip. Unlike the normal acryllic and gel process, shellac lasts for usually three weeks. Which means you don't have to run to the nail salon every other week for a fill-in! I hope these exciting nail tips encourage you ladies to go out and try something fun :)
